Richfield Snow Emergencies

Richfield’s snowplow crews try to clear the streets as quickly as possible after a snowfall so that driving is safer and easier for everyone. The City begins snow plowing when accumulation reaches two inches. High volume “minor arterial roads” are plowed first, then neighborhood “collector” streets. The City also plows City-owned sidewalks.
The City prohibits parking of vehicles on City streets after snowfall of two inches or more. Parking is prohibited until the streets have been plowed from curb to curb. Vehicles in violation of the ordinance are subject to being ticketed and towed immediately. Please speak with neighbors, landlords or friends to make arrangements for off-street parking during and following snowfalls of two inches or more. This ordinance is in effect November 1st through April 15th of each year.
